Equinix, founded in 1998, is an expansive organization with a network of over 200 data centers around the world. Most of its locations are in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific, but the company shows no signs of slowing down. They recently announced Equinix’s official expansion into South America and Africa, plus they continue to work towards expanding in Australia as well.

Right now, they are hiring in just about every location for a variety of positions from HR to engineering and everything in between. As a data-based company, most of the positions are for data center roles.

The top three Equinix locations for workers are the U.S., the U.K., and Singapore. But the organization offers remote and hybrid positions, so people from virtually anywhere can apply.

Culture

The culture at Equinix is centered around its founding principles of equality, neutrality, and internet exchange. In fact, that’s how they got their name: EQUalIty, Neutrality, Internet eXchange.

The vendor-neutral multi-tenant data center service provider also has goals in the field of sustainability and building business ecosystems for the future. Their newest data center in France will feature a functional greenhouse and sustainable heating and cooling technology.

Many reviews from current and former employees report that Equinix fosters a good work-life balance with plenty of opportunities for growth. The company also leverages remote and hybrid positions to attract talented individuals as well as competitive compensation and benefits.

Making a career change is a big transition. And while it’s easy to do your due diligence to find out about what it might be like to work at a new organization, it can be difficult to judge whether or not you will fit in with other people who work at an organization. Plus, the kind of people who work for a company says a lot about the organization and company culture.

At Equinix, most of the employees work in roles such as engineering, IT, and operations. If you studied business, computer science, or networking, then you will find yourself in like-minded company. Also, diversity and inclusion are at the core of Equinix, and they pride themselves on nurturing equitable opportunities for everyone in the organization.
